In 2007, we met with Kadunath Damodar Hilwale who needed a loan to build his pucca home. His daughter’s wedding date was set and he wanted to secure her future. He believed that a completed home was a sign of prosperity and that it was absolutely essential before marriage. So he went from one bank to the other, across districts, to obtain a loan, but none were ready to offer him one. But he persisted, despite constant rejection. After meeting him, we were inspired by his determination and we backed him by disbursing a loan with which Kadunath was able to build his home. But unfortunately, a severe drought followed and he had no money left to complete the rest of his home. In a while, we disbursed yet another loan with which he was able to finish his project. Even today our customer manager Ravi Pardeshi (Now a Regional Business Head), who managed Kadunath’s case in 2007, and Kadunath still remain friends. Kadunath reminds us that our role at MRHFL is to provide continued support to our customers and go beyond just a commercial, transactional relationship. For us, he signifies a will to succeed, regardless of what obstacles may stand in one's way. Being one of our first customers, we will always cherish the relationship we have with him.

He also married a girl he loved soon after. Her parents opposed their relationship earlier but later they accepted because of his employment. Now he is customer manager and lives better than before. His brother also joined MRHFL and he opened a tiles trading shop for another brother.
