Eligibility Criteria for PMAY-G Rural Housing Scheme

Beneficiaries under PMAY-G are identified primarily through the Socio Economic and Caste Census (SECC) 2011 and the Awaas+ survey.
Eligible Households

  • Families without any pucca house
  • Households living in kutcha or dilapidated houses
  • Landless labourers dependent on manual work
  • SC/ST families, widows and persons with disabilities
  • Female headed households without an earning male member

Priority is Given To:

  • Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes families
  • Widows and unmarried women
  • Differently-abled persons
  • Landless labourers and manual scavengers
  • Households with no literate adult member above 25 years or no earning adult members also receive preference.

Ineligible Households

  • Families owning a pucca house
  • Income taxpayers or government employees
  • Households owning motorised vehicles or large agricultural land
